ABOUT OEM

OAM Consult is a Denmark-based consultancy firm established in 2014. OAM leverages its unique talent pool of insider and outsider knowledge and expertise to support public and private partners engaged in the increasingly intersecting spaces of impact investment, climate smart and inclusive development, and conflict prevention across the globe.

The OAM talent network includes industry experts and academics hailing from the United Nations, International Finance institutions, non-governmental organisations, government, private sector, philanthropy, venture capitalists, and civil society groups.

OUR AIM

We support developing countries and their partners to create more resilient, low carbon development pathways that are more inclusive, equitable and economically diversified.

To achieve this aim, OAM consult services help our public and private sector client partners:

  • Diversify their access to short- and long-term financing instruments that include: grants, concessional and non-concessional loans, and climate financing

  • Capitalise on the fast-growing climate finance space

  • Optimise their funding architecture to ensure more effective and efficient blends of public and private financing

  • Increase impact and social return on investment (SROI)

  • Strengthen and meteor implementation capacities

  • Develop and curate research methodologies for the generation and analysis of data using AI-supported solutions that identify the challenges

APPROACH

We are not just a data-driven organisation. We are guided by a question-driven approach to make sure that the data we collect and analyse helps our clients and partners deliver on their commitments effectively, efficiently and sustainably.

At OAM, we believe it's important to be mindful of the temptation to fall into the trap of being blinded by increasing volumes of data. Instead, we seek to understand what questions need to be answered. We must ensure that we remain firmly wedded to a questions-driven approach. We need to constantly focus on the precursory conditions that determine what data to collect and how to interrogate the data.

The OAM question-driven approach is hardwired into how we plan our work for the long term, learn in real-time from the effects of our investments, and build capacity as we go along. This is reflected in our moniker stands for Observe, Act, and Mentor.
