Empowering Youth Peacebuilders: Fostering Social Cohesion and Reconciliation in Sahelian Communities

The project addresses UNESCO’s focus area of education, communication, and information, aiming to enhance social cohesion and engender a culture of peace. It pilots the training of selected young peacebuilders from three identified countries (Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Ethiopia) as community mediators, and designs customised Guidelines and training manuals from existing mediation manuals already developed by the African Union (AU).Specific emphasis is given to communication, negotiation, mediation and reconciliation skills and managing diversity.
